JOIN THE MOVEMENT

 God had me on a journey for over 2 years equipping the Body of Christ through the knowledge of God’s word by facilitating Purposeful Prayer Warrior Prayer line. Holy Spirit pressed upon my heart for over 2 years on ways in which to unite women. Holy Spirit continued to whisper this mandate in my ear every day. I taught about unity on the prayer line so many Friday mornings. Then Holy Spirit said, “it’s time to move.”

 

For years the enemy has utilized denominationalism and racism as a tools of separation. One day as I was sitting in my room talking with God, He led me to start a ministry for women. A ministry which will unite, disciple, equip, encourage, uplift, and grow women in the true unadulterated word of God. So many times, I prayed about this vision God had given me and questioned Him whether I was to do this alone or seek others? God answered and led me to my sister in Christ and church member Minister Latoya Ferrell. Out of obedience, I called Latoya and to my amazement God had her on the same journey. We prayed and discussed for a few months before God lead us to reach out to other women to join us. From that point, I called Minister Joann Weathersby to the group whom I met at a conference a few years prior.  Latoya called Evangelist Dr. Valerie Purry, who was her sister-in-law, to join us. They both prayed and decided to join this movement of God and we realized we were all of the same heart in uniting women.

 

Our first meeting was by teleconference on April 7, 2019. After this meeting God gave us the name Women United and our sister Joann, through Holy Spirit, added “the Movement.” Because this is a movement of God. We each have our own ministries but this did not hinder  us from joining hands and moving forward with this God inspired “Women United the Movement Ministry.” This ministry was established in 2018, and our desire is to minister to every aspect the lives of women.

 

We hosted our first conference in 2020, approximately a week before covid devastated the world. Even in this, we knew God was all knowing and nothing takes Him by surprise. Even in our pain God will give us purpose. Our beloved sister, Evangelist Dr. Valerie Purry, transitioned to be with the Lord on August 25, 2020, amid the covid pandemic. She will always be missed. She was the mother figure of our group who always spoke with encouragement and seeing the vision through. Women United the Movement is now 35 women strong and more committed than ever to love and lift women of all ethnicities.
